Cut the Cycle – Student Design Competition

Students across TLET schools are invited to take part in Cut the Cycle, a powerful student led campaign that aims to turn harm into hope through creativity and community action.

The project will transform surrendered knives into a public sculpture symbolising hope, resilience, positive choices, and safer communities. Working alongside local partners and a professional blacksmith, students have the opportunity to design a sculpture concept that could become part of the final piece displayed within the local community.

We are looking for thoughtful and creative designs that:

Promote positive change and raise awareness about ending knife crime
Reflect themes of hope, unity, and resilience
Connect to Rugby and the local community
Can realistically be created using surrendered metal materials
Competition Prizes
1st Prize: £30 voucher and the opportunity to assist the professional blacksmith in creating the final sculpture.
 Two Runners-Up: £10 vouchers.

The finished sculpture will first be displayed at Ashlawn School before touring local venues, helping to spark important conversations about community safety and positive choices.
