Message from Headteacher

It is my great privilege and pleasure as Head Teacher to welcome you to the Ashlawn School website. I hope that you will enjoy perusing the site and finding out about our remarkable school and the superb education we offer. At Ashlawn School we aspire to be a ‘World Class School’ with excellence at the heart of everything we do.

We are committed to providing an inspirational environment for our students, where they are engaged in learning, enabling them to realise their academic potential and providing them with the skills and values they need for life’s journey.

As a high performing co-educational 11-18 bi-lateral school, we hold a unique position in Rugby.  We are proud of the diverse social and cultural blend of our students which reflects the character of our wider community. At Ashlawn School, we promote excellence and aim to develop a love of learning. All the achievements and needs of our young people are valued and our curriculum is designed to help develop students not only in terms of qualifications but also in terms of their skills. We seek to do this in a way which is enjoyed and subsequently inspires a lifelong love for learning. We recognise that exam passes alone are not enough for young people who will work in a global economy and who will need confidence, adaptability, learning skills, creativity and resilience to live useful and fulfilling lives: we strive to ensure that every student will have his or her individual needs met through the highest standards of learning and teaching. Respect for each other and a high standard of behaviour is something which we all share and value.

Ashlawn is the perfect blend of tradition and innovation. We are a forward thinking and exciting school with excellent results. Our young people are proud to belong to a school which offers the opportunity to be challenged and extended. Success is celebrated in all aspects and we recognise the need of each individual where every student really does matter.  Our record of outstanding success is reflected in our A level and GCSE results and we are committed to providing the highest standards in all aspects of our provision for students.  In 2013 we were delighted when Ofsted inspectors awarded the school the outstanding category in all areas – a great testimony to the efforts of our fantastic staff, Governors, students and their families.

As the Head Teacher of Ashlawn, my vision is to lead, inspire and make a difference to the lives of our students.  I believe passionately in education and know that Ashlawn School affords its students the very best education there is.  My commitment to the school is to safeguard the core values on which the school is based, to extend the excellence of the school and to always grasp the opportunity to secure its future.
