Science and Careers Fair - Saturday 10th July 2010
(7 votes, average 3.29 out of 5)

Rugby High School and Ashlawn School, Rugby are both Science Specialist schools and joined together to present a fantastic day out for the young people of Rugby and surrounding areas.

The event was held at Ashlawn School on Ashlawn Road in Rugby, and hosted a variety of Science Technology, Engineering and Maths related workshops, presentations demonstrations and hands-on activities for all ages.

The exotic animals and insects, robots, rockets, forensics and slime were all big hits with the students who came.

The Rugby FM roadshow transmitted LIVE on air from the event in the morning and then three of the top school bands played throughout the afternoon.

Our mission was to raise the aspirations and achievements of young people in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths through education business links and in a fun and exciting way.

• Improving students' communication skills and self-confidence

• Providing recruitment opportunities for organisations

• Improving links between organisations and the local community

• Influencing the ambitions and aspirations of the future workforce
