Course Description Further Maths Sixthform
Further Mathematics is a second qualification taken in addition to A Level Mathematics. Students are required to study two further modules in core mathematics (FP1, and one of FP2 or FP3). Students will also study Statistics, Decision 1 and two further applied maths modules (eg Mechanics 3 and 4 or Statistics 2, Decision 2).

Further Pure 1,2 & 3: study hyperbolic functions, complex numbers, vector geometry, differential equations, matrix algebra plus extended work on inequalities, series, trigonometry and numerical methods.

Statistics 2 involves the study of discrete and continuous distributions and hypothesis testing.
Career Opportunities
Actuarial, accounting & finance, teaching, architecture, engineering and risk analysis.

On Wednesday 8th December 2 students from Ashlawn School competed against other local secondary schools to qualify for the Regional Final of ‘Young Chef of the Year'.
