Course Title | Communication & Culture | Course Description | This new and exciting A Level draws together interesting areas of study which include communication between people and groups in the first year then develops into the study of cultural practices and communication in the second year.
Course Content - AS Candidates study a range of interesting areas of communication including verbal and non verbal communication s well as the definitions and examples of high and popular culture. Each year there are different topics provided by the exam board which are the base of this independent study. Topics will be drawn from a range including cultural contexts and practices.
Course Content - A2 Candidates build on the areas of study covered in the AS year into investigations about capitalism, globalisation and consumerism. These key issues along with cultural products and practices provide the framework for the study of cultural sites such as spaces and places, fictions and objects of desire. A major piece of coursework which centres around an analysis of social and cultural rituals.
