Hi all, I was a previous ashlawn student who stayed on in the sixth form until 2007 to study psychology and AVCE health and social care. I successfully passed these A levels with much hard work On the day of our A level results i received a letter of acceptance from coventry university to study a degree in nursing. This was my first choice of university and something i had always wanted to do.
I am now currently a student nurse, studying a subject i love and have always wanted to do, in placement i have all the opportunities a qualified nurse would have i.e giving injections, removing canulas, administering cpr and taking down drips etc as well as admitting and discharging patients and much much more. In university we are taught about illnesses and about human anatomy. Very interesting stuff until they give us a nice big essay to complete at the end!! It can be gruelling at times but success never comes without hard work. My chosen career will open up endless opportunities for me within this profession, and in the end i want to be a specialist asthma nurse. Lara Judd-Winn
