Information for Universities for 2017 Entry
Ashlawn is a co-educational 11-18 bi-lateral school with a Sixth Form of approximately 370 students. Students usually study four subjects in year 12 and three in year 13, choosing between 39 A-Levels, BTECs and Enterprise. There are some restrictions on choice due to option blocking.
Ashlawn firmly believes in preparing individuals for Higher Education through differentiation of learning and independent enquiry. As part of this, students are able to access the following extra-curricular opportunities:
o Duke of Edinburgh
o World Challenge
o Extended Project
o Creative Writing
o Film Studies
o Young Enterprise
Students are only offered AS exams for legacy subjects, all new subjects follow a two year linear course. This allows students more time to develop learning and achieve best outcomes at the end of the two year period.
Predicted grades for UCAS are based on assessments over year 12, along with end of year exams or AS grade where applicable.
